Drains will often need repairing due to ground movement, subsidence, tree root infiltration, corrosion, or even physical damage.

Sometimes a drain will completely collapse over time and the result is a structurally defective drainage system causing repeated blockages and leakage into the surrounding soil. G.W.Drains has the capability to offer a comprehensive repair and renovation service for drainage systems both above and below-ground. Normally our engineers can repair or replace any external exposed pipe work immediately on site as spares are carried in the vehicles.

Excavations

In the event of an excavation being required, the work will be carried out by qualified personal that have been trained to meet the latest legislation and comply with all the health and safety regulations.

Drain Lining

Repairing drains can now be undertaken with the minimum of cost and disruption due to the latest innovations in drain lining. In simple terms, lining is where a pre formed polyester tube is inserted into the drain or sewer and resins are introduced that cure, leaving the liner in contact with the inner wall of the drain/sewer. For smaller sections of damaged pipe a patch liner can be used to repair a localised area where full end-to-end lining would not be cost effective. This method involves guiding the patch into place with the aid of a CCTV camera and then inflating a bladder to push the patch onto the inner wall of the sewer pipe. The pressure is then maintained until the patch has cured, then the bladder deflated and removed.

As a repair process, drain lining has been in use for many years and is now an extremely method of repairing smaller diameter domestic drains in the UK.
